The Well Coffee House

When a certain competitor of ours (let's just say it rhymes with HeHurk) wouldn't even let David Selden of The Well Coffee House in the door, he found a better solution to his team's space problem just a coffee bean's throw away.

We had just had a really important meeting at one of our coffee houses, and it was loud and everyone was distracted. In a fit of frustration, I stormed out of the coffee house and just walked around the corner like, ‘I am finding the first coworking space that I come across’

For many folks, the first thing that comes to mind when they think of working remotely is a coffee shop. We get it! People are packed into one on every street corner, using the free Wi-Fi and cramming their stuff onto small cafe tables. Sure working from a coffee shop is fine in a pinch, but at Workbar we preach all the time that it isn't efficient or sustainable long term. Now you can hear it directly from the roaster’s mouth.

Luckily, that space was Workbar Downtown. David was so wowed by the warm, welcoming environment and once he saw the available office space, he was sold. They moved in about a week later.

The Well Coffee House, a non-profit coffee shop, partners with other non-profit organizations around the world to support people in need. Proceeds from The Well Coffee House are donated to these partners, and a different organization is chosen to be highlighted at the coffee house each month.

Co-founder and COO Matt Love particularly appreciates the way Workbar supports the big day-to-day stuff an organization like The Well Coffee House faces. “To have the conference room has been like one of the best things for us. They're set up really professionally. We've had investor meetings, donor meetings, and we've been able to operate in a way that's a lot more professional and really improve the way that we just do business all around.”

Workbar is proud to be a small part of The Well Coffee House's great work, and we hope it stays that way for years to come. We’re pretty confident that will be the case, since as Matt putts it, “We wouldn't be where we are right now as quickly as we've progressed over the last couple of months if it wasn't for Workbar.”
